Long story alert.

Ayumi does not always like to remember it, but the dryer in this picture was one of the things that got me and her together so many years ago. Ayumi was a student at USA in the dorms and when we met we really did not have much to talk about. She found out I had a washer and a dryer and rather than want to take her clothes to the campus washateria she began washing her clothes at my house. Romance ensued. It may not sound real sweet, but honestly I was a little misty eyed to see them go. We replaced the washer and dryer with a second hand set. Oddly enough we sold the two appliances that brought Ayumi and I together to first year USA students.

I find this picture strangly appealing because of the elements of, the porch Ayumi and I painted "terracotta" together, our daughter, the dryer that brought us together, some junk that needs to be tossed out, and a rake to clean up the future. It's sort of poetic all infront of the bricks that I have lived behind for 30 years now. Not to mention the new member of the family down there.
